Why start a Stone Soup in your community?

Stone Soup - Friends of All Abilities is a successful way to connect families of children and young adults to a community of friends. It creates opportunities with typical children, college students, and adults to realize the joy of relationships with people of all abilities. Those with special needs have much to offer and we need each other's mutual friendship.

A local community's respect for a church goes up significantly when they realize the "giving" ministry that Stone Soup represents to that community.

"Stone Soup is the best approach I have ever seen for a church to reach out to families of children and young adults with special needs."
Dr. Gene Mims, Senior Pastor
Judson Baptist Church, Nashville, TN

Hosting Stone Soup in your church will enable many more families to be connected than through traditional approaches, benefiting a much larger segment of your church and community at large.

"We started a Stone Soup ministry in our church in February 2008 and by June we had over 50 families ... it is a huge success for our entire church and puts a new spring in the steps of the parents whose child or young adult has special needs. "
Louis Davis, Education Minister
Thompson Station Church, Thompson Station, TN
